who love Bungee jumping can find their sport well and alive on the shores of
Goa. The exclusive Bungee jumping site, adjacent to the Anjuna beach in
north Goa, is operated by a Mumbai-based private firm Gravity Zone in an
area of some 3000 sq mts.
Bungee Jumping, is both a spectacular
attraction and an exhilarating experience for all who participate,
attracting people from a wide background and a broad spectrum of age groups.
The average age of jumpers is between 16 and 40, but the limit is 14 to 50.
Bungee jumping is an unusual sport of jumping off a very high
structure with a long elastic rope tied to your feet. The rope pulls you
back just before you hit an inflated airbag. The thrill of just jumping off
the high tower is a great experiece.
This thrilling and intriguing
sport that owes everything to plain, raw nerve attracts adventure tourists
from all over India and abroad. It is actually quite a safe sport, as all
the equipment used in the whole operation applies a fundamental "redundancy"
principle throughout and the procedures include rigorous double checking
very much like a pilot's preflight check routine.
The village of
Anjuna has been changing consistently, from the time tourism took roots by
the side of its beautiful beach. Now, Bungee jumping has added itself to the
joys of adventure tourism in Goa near the Anjuna beach.
At the
foot of Anjuna's picturesque hill, before it sweeps down undulatingly to
melt into the golden sands and warm surf, Gravity Adventure Private Limited
have set up a 80-ft tower for Bungee jumping, to convert North Goa into a
prime Bungee jumping site.
The giant metal tower, constructed by
Sports Town Inc of U.S.A., is of an international quality patent and is
considered to be the safest so far. Their office is towards the beach near
the bus stand.
The management offers a 50% discount for the jumper
who decides to jump again on the same day. The jump entitles you to a bungee
jump certificate to show to your friends.
There's a cafe, bar and
occasional party nights here. It's open from 10 am to 1.30 pm and 3 to 9.45
pm.
